Rating: 2/5 – Mediocre pop science with a few good points.
This is one of those popular science books that could probably be reduced down to three or four blog posts without losing any valuable content. Like many of its contemporaries, the book is weighed down with lengthy and repititave anecdotes and crude attempts to shoehorn neuroscience and psychology into the narrative, presumably to lend an air of scientific authority to the author’s claims.
There is some valuable advice in the book, but I wish I didn’t have to spend so much time hearing about fMRI scans to get to it. Skip this one and read a summary instead.
